Rules about Blogging

Students using weblogs (blogs) are expected to use them only for school-based purposes, act safely and keep personal information out of their posts

Students are not to give out any of the following information.

  •                     Family name
  •                     Home address
  •                     Any phone numbers
  •                     Username
  •                     Password
  •                     Email address
  •                     Named photos / images of self, family or friends.
  1. The only people who a student is allowed to share their username and password with are their parents and teacher.
  2. Never login as another person.
  3. A blog space is the same as a classroom space. Students must use quality language and act in accordance with the school Code of Conduct, the School Internet Users Agreement and in a manner for which the school would be proud.
  4. Students are to write posts only about school related topics. Blogs are a tool for learning and must meet the requirements and rules negotiated by the class and the teacher.
  5. If a student sees or receives any material that causes them to feel uncomfortable or is not respectful the teacher must be told straight away. NEVER respond to such a comment.
  6. Students are not to click on advertisements nor are they to participate in any competitions while using school computers.

Students who do not abide by these terms and conditions will have their parents notified and will lose the opportunity to use school computers for an appropriate period of time.    http://www.thinkuknow.com
